In an extensive article published in Nature, the authors divulge that 29.7% of cancer cases in women and 45.4% in men are preventable. Big variations exist in the different countries and regions. Much more needs to be invested in preventive measures by combating smoking, infections and alcohol consumption that are the main contributors to cancer worldwide.
